LMPSU PUB NIGHT!!!

Here’s some pretty convincing reasons to come out to an exciting night!

1. THERE IS A TON OF FREE FOOD. Like, nachos, quesadillas (including veggie!), Thai food, meatballs, pulled pork sliders, and 8 pounds of chicken wings. That is not a typo. EIGHT POUNDS OF CHICKEN WINGS.

2. It is hosted at the spacious and homely Pogue Mahone Irish Pub (777 Bay St.), which is conveniently right next to College Subway Station.

3. Come meet the rest of your year and the rest of the LMP family 🙂

It’s going to be a great night with great people, and we can’t wait to see you all there! Also, you don’t have to be 19 to attend this event!

LMPSU LOVES YOU!

Free food will be provided, but not alcohol.

2nd Round Table: The Ethics of International Medical Volunteering

Join LMPSU on Tuesday November 5th 6:00-8:00PM @ MS3163 for an important and necessary discussion of the ethical considerations of short-term, international medical volunteering. We have a diverse panel to explore all sides of the issue as much as possible:

– Prof. Helen Dimaras, Assistant Professor in Global Health
– Byron Song, Co-Founder of Global Medical Training U of T
– Jasmine Song, Participant of a VIDA U of T trip
– Prof. Marieme Lo, Assistant Professor in African Studies

If you have taken part in a volunteering trip, are considering going on one, or are simply a thoughtful onlooker, then this is the event for you. The emphasis of the panel is on audience interaction, so bring your questions and friends! Students from all disciplines and levels of study are welcome. Light snacks will be provided!

2nd Friday Food Adventure!

Welcome to the 2nd Friday Food Adventure! This week, we will be exploring the awesomeness that is Queen Street, with a total of 3 stops on our trip.

Our first stop is Nadege: French macarons, pastries, etc. http://www.nadege-patisserie.com/
Our second stop is Poutini’s: Canadian poutine, the best in Toronto (in my opinion) http://www.poutini.com/
And our last stop is Comebuy: Taiwanese/Asian bubble tea, milk teas, smoothies, etc. https://www.facebook.com/comebuytoronto

Nadege and Poutini’s is quite far away, so we will be taking the streetcar; bring TTC tokens/metropass! Furthermore, Poutini’s ONLY ACCEPTS CASH (although they have an ATM in the store), so bring cash!

We will be meeting at the MSB cafe again at 5pm (same place, same time).
